The 2025/2026 postal tariff published in the Government Gazette (No. 8740, 15 September 2025) contains no "poste restante" line. That does not prove the service is free.

  • The format comes from Namibia's UPU addressing sheet (created June 2020), which gives a "Poste restante / PO Counter delivery" example: name, Poste Restante, office name, postcode, NAMIBIA.
  • Same official tariff: parcel storage at N$7.70 per day after 14 days from notification. Parcels arriving at the international mail centre can be transferred for collection at the office of your choice (conveyance fee shown as "-").
  • PO boxes from N$450 to 835.50 per year depending on size and location, and Private Bags from N$484.50 to 1,608 per year depending on category: this is the dominant use. The poste restante service remains to be confirmed with a NamPost office.
  • The nampost.com.na site was unreachable at the time of research: no official page describing the service could be read.
