No official source describes a poste restante service ("posta restante") in Mozambique. The state-owned company Correios de Moçambique was dissolved in 2021; in October 2024 the regulator INCM granted the universal postal operator licence to CORRE, whose website mentions neither poste restante, nor an address format, nor a holding period.

Unverified leads

  • Official INCM page (14 October 2024): the universal postal operator licence is handed to CORRE to fill "the legal vacuum resulting from the dissolution, in 2021, of the state-owned company Correios de Moçambique". This text is about the company; it says nothing about poste restante.
  • Press (Diário Económico, 30 May 2025): the liquidation committee announces the permanent closure of Correios de Moçambique's premises from 1 June 2025 and the transfer of all activities to CORRE. Secondary source.
  • CORRE's official site (corremz.com): it lists "caixas de apartado" (PO boxes) among the universal postal service offerings, but does not explain how to address mail, any holding period, any holding fees, or poste restante.
  • Mozambique's UPU addressing sheet (03/2005, so old and in the name of the former national company) only gives home delivery and P.O. Box examples (4-digit postcode before the locality), with no poste restante example.
  • Unverified lead: ask CORRE directly whether one of its access points can hold mail at the counter before having anything sent.

We found no official page about this service. That doesn't prove it doesn't exist: many postal websites block automated access or simply don't mention it.
