poste.tn price page (archived capture of 19 January 2026, re-read directly in the archive): "Taxe de la Poste Restante" of 1.000 DT (domestic) and 2.000 DT (international), listed among the letters' "additional services" tariffs, next to registration and acknowledgement of receipt. Payer (sender or addressee) and basis of calculation: not specified. An older version showed 0.500 and 1.000 DT.

  • The poste.tn "practical advice" page (archived capture of 11 March 2026) suggests having your mail addressed to the office of your choice with poste restante, and refers you to an office or the 1828 call centre.
  • Postal code (law no. 98-38 of 2 June 1998, Official Gazette, text read as PDF): poste restante items are those whose delivery must take place at a designated post office (article 2). A poste restante item for a minor is handed over only with the guardians' authorisation, otherwise it is returned to the sender (article 13).
  • Article 14 of the same code requires keeping items that were neither delivered nor returned for 1 year at most, from the date of posting: this is not the storage period at the office, which is not specified. No order or general terms of sale setting this period were found.
  • Address: the UPU sheet (April 2014) describes a 4-digit postcode before the name of the office or town (e.g. "1002 TUNIS BELVEDERE"), with no poste restante example: the lines above are an adaptation. Offices concerned, parcels, ID: unconfirmed.
  • For details (storage period, ID to show, who pays the fee), ask the chosen office or call 1828: no official page consulted says.

This entry is to be confirmed: at least one key piece of information could not be verified on an official page. Call the country's post office before sending anything important.
