No official Ethiopost page describes a poste restante service. The official site describes collecting items at the post office, the (now virtual) PO box, and parcels.

Unverified leads

• Collecting a parcel at the office (official Parcel page): official or company ID with a copy, and the tracking number. Handling fee of 50 ETB (under 10 kg) or 100 ETB (over 10 kg), plus a 20 ETB facilitation fee. To be collected within 10 days, then 0.75 ETB storage per day. This is not poste restante: it assumes an item already registered.
• Official "Post Box Service" page: annual subscription to a virtual PO box, from 750 ETB (individual, excl. 15% VAT) to 50,000 ETB (business).
• Ethiopia's UPU addressing sheet (07/2002) only gives home delivery and P.O. Box examples. Unverified lead: ask an Ethiopost office whether mail can be held at the counter.
